Chief Election Commissioner Calls for Transparent and Peaceful By-Elections

Islamabad, Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Sikandar Sultan Raja issued directions to the Chief Secretaries and Provincial Election Commissioners of the four provinces regarding the conduct of by-elections, emphasizing the need for peaceful and transparent elections. He highlighted that negligence would not be tolerated.

According to Election Commission of Pakistan, Mr. Sikandar Sultan Raja instructed the officials to ensure that copies of Form 45 are provided to all candidate agents at the polling stations. The Chief Election Commissioner also contacted the Regional Election Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Reporting Officers of all sensitive constituencies to monitor the electoral process and guarantee transparent by-elections.

The Chief Election Commissioner urged candidates participating in the by-elections to direct their polling agents to request copies of Form 45 from the Presiding Officer. Additionally, he visited the control room set up at the Election Commission’s Sekar Traet to review the arrangements, which he described as satisfactory.

These instructions reflect the Election Commission’s commitment to maintaining transparency and fairness in the by-elections, as well as ensuring that the electoral process is monitored closely.
