Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Visits Injured Security Personnel in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalpindi to meet security personnel who were injured during a protest led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the Chief Minister’s visit aimed to boost the morale of the affected Rangers and police personnel.

During her visit, Chief Minister Sharif interacted with each injured individual and conveyed her well wishes. The injured personnel recounted the violence they faced during the protest, describing incidents where PTI workers allegedly opened fire on police at close range and used nailed sticks, leading to severe injuries including broken bones and, in some cases, eye damage. One officer reportedly suffered a serious skull injury.

Chief Minister Sharif expressed appreciation for the high morale and sense of duty displayed by the injured personnel. She assured them that both the federal and Punjab governments would provide necessary support for their recovery. Emphasizing the nation’s pride in its security forces, she condemned the actions of the PTI protesters, labeling them as attempts to disrupt national development.

She further stated that attacks on state institutions, property, and security personnel are unacceptable. Highlighting the sacrifices made by the Army officers to maintain peace, she criticized PTI for targeting those who risk their lives for the nation. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to assist the injured personnel and their families.
