China Asia Economic Development Association Proposes Trade Enhancements with Pakistan

Islamabad: The China Asia Economic Development Association (CAEDA) has proposed several new trade and economic collaborations with Pakistan. This initiative, designed to strengthen bilateral ties, was discussed in a meeting in Islamabad with the Pakistani Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting, led by CAEDA delegates Qian Qiu Zhu and Jian Jun Guo, explored various cooperative ventures. These include the creation of a ‘Pakistan Zero-Tariff Trade Zone,’ a service center for Chinese imports, and the expansion of investment in agriculture, livestock, and business-to-business sectors.

During the discussions, Minister Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the enduring relationship between Pakistan and China and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the safety and security of Chinese nationals working on developmental projects within the country. He also highlighted the ongoing second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which aims to boost business-to-business partnerships and unlock new avenues for joint ventures between Pakistani and Chinese companies.
