Lahore, May 26, 2014 (PPI-OT): The China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Qinghai observed ‘Pakistan Theme Day’ during the Halal Food Exhibition held in Xining, China, touching the new heights of the Sino-Pak friendship.
World Handmade Carpet Organization Chairman and BOI Pakistan Honorary Consul to China, Akhtar Nazir Khan Cooki, who has been working to strengthen Pak-China trade ties, observed that he has succeeded to get preferential policy for Pakistani exhibitors in that show by the Qinghai provincial government.
“The May 17, dedicated and specified for Pakistan Theme Day in Qinghai Show, provided us an opportunity of building our soft image and positive picture through our cultural show, artistic displays, portraying our variety of innovative products and people to people meetings.”
Major (r) Cooki, who is also advisor to Governor Qinghai for International Business Development, said that with a view to commemorate Pakistan Theme Day in its true spirit the provincial government of Qinghai allocated 180 Square Meters of complimentary space for Pakistani exhibitors to display their products.
The Pakistan Halal Meat industry and many other companies, including Tata Foods, Guard Rice, Miaco, PS Lahore, Schazoo, and International Traders exhibited their products. A presentation was given on the Halal Meat Industry of Pakistan and Halal Certification at the International Trade Meeting.
The participants included the ambassadors of almost all the Muslim and Halal Product Producing Countries were present at the exhibition. Pakistan was represented by Akhtar Nazir Khan Cooki. The chairman said that this was an excellent opportunity for Pakistan to enter the massive food market available in China.
Highlighting this auspicious occasion, he said that it was great opportunity for Pakistani participants to take advantage of this event by getting maximum share of Chinese markets to expand the trade volume with China.
Mian Shahbaz Sharif supported this Theme Day event by sending a Cultural Performing Troupe to represent Punjab and Pakistan at this mega event. The performance of the troupe was directed by Asif Nazir, the grandson of late legendary filmmaker Nazir Khan.
Straight from the opening ceremony of the exhibition, it was Pakistan written all around along with heart throbbing Pakistani dhol and cultural dances. During one of the dinners held for the Pakistani delegation, one of the participants Humaira Akhtar cooked the halal meat that was taken to the exhibition, in Pakistani style dishes.
The stalls of Pakistan at the exhibition not only displayed halal meat but also other halal products from Pakistan, which included clothes, accessories, handmade carpets, dry fruit and bakery items.
