Chinese Ambassador Urges Strengthening of Pak-China Cooperation in Nuclear and Power Sectors

Karachi: Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong has called for enhancing strategic and bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and China across various sectors, emphasizing collaboration in nuclear power and other key industries.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Jiang made these remarks during his visit to the Karachi Nuclear Power Plants K-2 and K-3. He commended the joint efforts of the Chinese Power Company and the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) in completing these projects. The ambassador encouraged Chinese companies to extend their contributions beyond China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiatives and invest in non-CPEC projects within Pakistan’s power sector to further solidify economic ties between the two nations.

Speaking on the upcoming C5 Nuclear Power Plant, Jiang acknowledged the ongoing negotiations between Pakistan and China, pledging full support for the project’s execution, which is expected to significantly boost Pakistan’s nuclear power capacity. He also expressed gratitude to the PAEC Chairman for ensuring the safety and security of the Chinese workforce engaged in these ventures.
