Chinese Firm Eyes Investment in Pakistan’s Maritime Sector with Desalination Plant Proposal

Karachi: A leading Chinese construction company has expressed interest in investing in Pakistan’s maritime industry due to the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). The potential investment comes as a proposal is under consideration to install a desalination plant at Port Qasim, aimed at converting seawater into potable water.

According to Radio Pakistan, China has assured full cooperation with Pakistan in addressing the water shortage issue through the installation of this desalination plant. The initiative is expected to not only meet industrial needs but also fulfill domestic water requirements, marking a significant step in strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
