Civilian Injured in Landmine Explosion in Poonch

Jammu: In the Poonch district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a landmine explosion resulted in serious injuries to a civilian.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident involved 40-year-old Haneef, who was collecting firewood on his property in the Shahpur area close to the Line of Control. He inadvertently triggered the landmine, leading to the severe injuries that necessitated his hospitalization.

This type of occurrence is not uncommon in areas adjacent to the Line of Control in IIOJK, where landmines laid by the Indian Army create a hazardous environment for the local populace. The majority of these civilians are not adequately informed of the potential dangers in their vicinity, often because of insufficient warning from military authorities. These mines not only present immediate physical threats but also restrict access to essential resources and disrupt agricultural activities, significantly affecting the community’s daily life and economic stability.
