Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed all relevant departments to remain on high alert in view of possible torrential rains in the province.
According to Radio Pakistan, she instructed the PDMA Punjab, district administration, police, and rescue services to take necessary precautionary measures. She ordered Deputy Commissioners and other concerned officers to remain present in the field to ensure quick response and coordination.
The Chief Minister also directed special arrangements in Murree, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Koh-e-Sulaiman areas. In light of potential cloudbursts, landslides, and heavy rains, she also ordered the restriction of tourist movement to mitigate risks.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif appealed to parents to prevent their children from going near rivers and streams to ensure their safety.
