CM Punjab Approves ‘Apna Ghar Mehfooz Ghar’ Programme

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the launch of the “Apna Ghar Mehfooz Ghar” programme to help prevent tragedies caused by unsafe houses. The approval came during a meeting held in Lahore.

According to Radio Pakistan, the initiative aims to assist families living in dilapidated houses with unsafe roofs by providing financial aid. Families will receive up to five hundred thousand rupees for repairs. Additionally, the programme offers interest-free loans of up to one million rupees, available on easy installments, for house construction.

The meeting highlighted that interest-free loans have been approved for more than one hundred and eighty thousand homeless families. To date, loans have already been disbursed to one hundred and seventy thousand families, demonstrating the government’s commitment to addressing housing safety and homelessness.
