CM Punjab Distributes Keys to Women Under E-Taxi Scheme in Lahore

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz today distributed keys to women candidates under the e-Taxi Scheme. Speaking on the occasion, she highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering women and enhancing transportation infrastructure in the province.

According to Radio Pakistan, thirty percent quota has been reserved for women in this initiative, ensuring significant participation by female drivers. Additionally, the vehicles allocated to women drivers will have a distinct color to set them apart, fostering a sense of safety and recognition.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the e-Taxi Scheme is not only a step towards empowering women but also a significant move towards environmental sustainability. By integrating eco-friendly vehicles, the scheme aims to contribute to a cleaner and greener Punjab.

Furthermore, she announced the introduction of green buses, promising their delivery to every tehsil in Punjab. This move is expected to bolster public transport facilities across the region, making commuting more efficient and environmentally friendly.
