CM Punjab Orders Plan for Construction of Labor Colonies

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, has directed departments concerned to prepare a plan for the construction of labor colonies across the province. Presiding over a meeting in Lahore, she also approved a number of welfare projects for laborers.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister approved the establishment of a 200-bed Rehmatul-Lil-Alameen Cardiology Centre on Lahore Defense Road along with a 50-bed Social Security Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan. These projects are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare facilities for workers in the region.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister directed amendments in labor laws. She emphasized the need for the implementation of a minimum monthly wage of 37,000 rupees, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing the living standards of laborers in the province.
