Commerce Minister Advocates for Strengthened Trade Relations Between Pakistan and Uzbekistan

Islamabad: At a ceremony in Islamabad marking Uzbekistan’s Independence Day, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal called on the business communities of both Pakistan and Uzbekistan to deepen their collaborative efforts to elevate their trade relationship. The event highlighted the historical and cultural ties that underpin the economic connections between the two nations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Kamal expressed optimism about the future of bilateral trade, citing increased engagement from both sides as a key driver for anticipated growth. He emphasized the unique relationship between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, which is enriched by centuries of shared history and cultural links.

The minister also noted the strategic economic interactions currently underway, particularly highlighting the use of Pakistani ports by Uzbek traders to route their international imports. This development, he pointed out, benefits Uzbekistan with more convenient and cost-effective logistics options, further cementing the role of Pakistan as a critical trade conduit in Central Asia.
