Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Highlights Government Efforts to Boost Textile and Leather Industries

Karachi: At the opening of the Fifth International Exhibition today, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan detailed the government’s initiatives to enhance the textile and leather sectors, which represent 60 percent of Pakistan’s national exports. He discussed the introduction of modern, eco-friendly technologies to aid these industries and mentioned the compliance of Pakistani exporters with global environmental and transparency standards.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the minister emphasized the adaptation of small and medium scale industries to global standards and the government’s efforts to supply energy to industries at reduced rates. Additionally, notable speeches were made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, who affirmed Pakistan as a safe investment destination with vast opportunities, and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who praised the exhibition as a showcase of the country’s business creativity and skills.

The event highlighted the significance of such international exhibitions in fostering connections with the global business community and promoting economic development in Pakistan.
