Dhaka: The Coordinator General of the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chowdhury, inaugurated the 3rd OIC Youth Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology at North South University in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This forum is a joint effort by COMSTECH, the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), and North South University (NSU).
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the forum aims to gather policymakers, academics, and representatives from international organizations to discuss the role of biotechnology in overcoming global food security challenges. The event underscores the collaborative efforts of Bangladesh and COMSTECH in advancing science and technology. Professor Chowdhury highlighted the COMSTECH-Bangladesh Scholarship Programme, which has been instrumental in facilitating young researchers’ advanced studies and research in Pakistan and other Islamic countries.
The forum’s conclusion today features several scientific sessions with speakers from Turkey, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and other countries. This gathering serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and aims to strengthen international cooperation in agricultural biotechnology.
