Srinagar: Tariq Hameed Karra, the President of the Congress chapter in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has vocally criticized the BJP’s ten-year governance as a ‘dark period’ for the region, citing increased hardships for its residents.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during a statement in Srinagar, Karra accused the BJP of failing to resolve critical issues like unemployment and escalating violence, charging them with the systematic erosion of local rights.
Karra stated, “The past decade of BJP rule in J and K has been a dark period in our history. From downgrading our State’s status to robbing our people of their rights, the BJP’s exploitation has led to soaring unemployment and a surge in militant incidents.”
He also disputed claims of improved relations between Kashmir and New Delhi, asserted by the BJP, labeling them as mere rhetoric. He argued that the BJP should apologize to the citizens of J and K for their decade-long policies, highlighting the growing disconnect and dissatisfaction among the Kashmiri people with the ruling party.
