Contractual employees in Karachi Metropolitan Corporation gets extension in contract

Karachi, May 29, 2016 (PPI-OT): Following the directive of KMC Administrator Laeeq Ahmed, the Human Resources Management Department issued the one year extension order for about 500 contractual employees in KMC. These employees were posted in various departments and the order has been issued after receiving this certificate from the concerned head of the department that these employees were attending to their duty and doing their job satisfactorily, besides such staff also appeared before the physical verification committee to get extension in their contract.

The extension in the contractual agreement was made from the date when their previous contract expired. The Administrator Karachi has said that despite of facing financial crisis in KMC, this step of giving extension to contractual employees has been taken on humanitarian grounds and to save the citizens from unemployment.

The contractual employees and their families expressed pleasure on this decision of KMC Administrator and they thanked him for saving them from financial hardship in the holy month of Ramzan and coming Eid. The Senior Director HRM Javed Rahim said the remaining contractual employees of KMC would also be included in the next list for extension in contract, however they will have to present before the physical verification committee.
