Copper Mining Continuing in Saindak, Chagai with Chinese Collaboration

Chagai: Copper mining has been continuing in Saindak, Chagai with the collaboration of China. This project, part of the Special Investment Facilitation’s priority sectors, is the first of its kind in Pakistan’s history, where raw material is converted into finished products.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chinese experts have reported that three hundred and forty thousand tons of copper have been extracted from Saindak over the past twenty-three years. There are additional reserves of three hundred thousand tons at the site, which are to be extracted over the next fifteen years.

The Chinese mining company has also been working for the welfare of the area over the last two decades. As part of its corporate social responsibility, the company has established a twenty-five bed hospital equipped with modern facilities, providing free treatment to local and nearby area patients with medicines available at half price. The company has also built a high school in Saindak, offering free quality education to students.
