CRPF Constable Tragedy: Officer Kills Wife, Self in Bhopal

Bhopal: An Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable today fatally shot his wife before turning the gun on himself at their residence in Bhopal.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the constable, identified as 35-year-old Ravikant Verma, was stationed at the CRPF camp in Bangrasia, near Bhopal. After killing his 32-year-old wife, Renu, Verma reportedly contacted the CRPF control room, local police, and his landlord before taking his own life with the same service rifle.

Upon receiving the distress call, police promptly arrived at the scene in Capital Green Colony and transported the bodies for postmortem examination.

Initial investigations by police suggest that the incident stemmed from ongoing family discord. Ravikant Verma was a resident of Bhind district in Madhya Pradesh and lived with his wife and their two children, a two-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son, close to the CRPF camp in Bangrasia Misrod.
