Dar Appreciates OCHA’s Global Humanitarian Role

Islamabad: UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher called on Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad today. Ishaq Dar appreciated the role of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in providing humanitarian assistance to people during disasters and conflicts across the globe.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar also appreciated OCHA’s work during climate-induced disasters in Pakistan. He expressed Pakistan’s commitment to continue supporting the vital work being carried out by OCHA, especially to address the humanitarian situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Tom Fletcher commended Pakistan’s ongoing efforts for regional peace and stability, and appreciated its invaluable contributions to the United Nations over the years.
