Death Anniversary of Classical Dancer Maharaj GH Kathak Observed

Lahore: Twenty-seventh death anniversary of Pakistan’s renowned classical dancer Maharaj Ghulam Hussain Kathak was observed today. Maharaj Ghulam Hussain Kathak, a celebrated figure in the world of classical dance, was born on March 4, 1899, in Calcutta.

According to Radio Pakistan, Maharaj Ghulam Hussain Kathak moved to Pakistan in 1950, where he dedicated his life to teaching dance, first in Karachi and later in Lahore. His contributions to the art form were recognized with prestigious accolades, including the Nigar Award and the Presidential Medal for Meritorious Service.
