Death Anniversary of Hameed Kashmiri Observed

Karachi: The 22nd death anniversary of renowned short story writer and playwright Hameed Kashmiri was observed today. Hameed Kashmiri, whose real name was Abdul Hameed, was born on June 1, 1929, in Murree and passed away on this day in 2003 in Karachi.

According to Radio Pakistan, Hameed Kashmiri was an active writer who contributed significantly to literature. He wrote countless short stories, more than fifteen novels, and over 50 individual plays. His contributions extended to radio, where his play “Emergency Ward” ran for 16 episodes. Additionally, he was involved in writing stage plays, showcasing his versatility in different forms of storytelling.
