Death Anniversary of Legendary Urdu Newscaster Taskeen Zafar Observed

Islamabad: The second death anniversary of legendary Urdu newscaster of Radio Pakistan and PTV, Taskeen Zafar, was observed on Tuesday. Her contributions to the field of broadcasting, notably in Urdu news, have left a lasting impact on listeners and viewers across Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, Taskeen Zafar’s distinguished broadcasting career spanned over four decades. She embarked on her journey in media by joining Radio Pakistan as an announcer in 1980. Her voice became synonymous with reliability and clarity, making her a beloved figure among audiences.

Taskeen Zafar was not only a prominent figure at Radio Pakistan but also made significant contributions to Pakistan Television (PTV). At PTV, she read news and hosted music programs, showcasing her versatility and command over diverse broadcasting formats.

In recognition of her meritorious services and dedication to the field, Taskeen Zafar was honored with the Presidential Pride of Performance award in 2023. This accolade stands as a testament to her enduring legacy and the respect she garnered throughout her career.
