Death Anniversary of Poet Akhtar Sheerani Observed

Lahore: The seventy-seventh death anniversary of renowned Urdu poet Akhtar Sheerani was observed on Tuesday. Akhtar Sheerani is regarded as one of the leading romantic poets in the Urdu language, leaving an indelible mark on the literary world with his profound contributions.

According to Radio Pakistan, Akhtar Sheerani’s celebrated works include “Akhtaristan,” “Nigarshat-e-Akhtar,” “Lala-e-Toor,” “Tayyur-e-Aawara,” “Naghma-e-Haram,” “Subh-e Bahaar,” and “Shahnaz.” In addition to his poetic endeavors, he also served as the editor for several literary magazines such as “Intikhab,” “Bahaaristan,” “Khyaalistan,” and “Romaan.”

Akhtar Sheerani passed away on this day in 1948 in Lahore, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire poets and literary enthusiasts. His contributions to Urdu literature remain a significant part of the cultural heritage.
