Death Anniversary of Quraish Pur Observed

Karachi: The 12th death anniversary of renowned television compere and scholar Quraish Pur was observed on Tuesday. Quraish Pur was a beloved figure in the realm of Pakistani television and culture, known for his intellectual contributions and engaging presence on screen.

According to Radio Pakistan, Quraish Pur hosted the famous TV program ‘Kasauti’, alongside Obaidullah Baig in the 1970s. This program, among others, showcased his exceptional ability to engage audiences with challenging questions and discussions. In addition to ‘Kasauti’, he also hosted other quiz shows such as ‘Lafz ki Talaash’, ‘Sheeshay Ka Ghar’, ‘Zauq-e-Aagahi’, and the UN Quiz, each highlighting his deep knowledge and passion for learning.

Quraish Pur was respected for his extensive knowledge across various disciplines including history, literature, geography, and the sciences. His ability to converse on a wide range of topics made him a remarkable figure in the television industry.

He passed away on this day in 2013 in Karachi after
a lengthy illness, leaving behind a legacy of intellectual curiosity and public engagement. His contributions continue to be remembered and celebrated by those who valued his work and presence in the media.
