Deputy PM Travels to Iran for Economic Cooperation Meeting

Tehran: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar departed for Iran today to participate in the 28th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dar will emphasize Pakistan’s commitment to the ECO charter during his address at the meeting. He will also discuss the potential benefits of improved regional connectivity through the development of rail and road networks, visa regime liberalization, and the simplification of border procedures.

The Deputy Prime Minister plans to express Pakistan’s concerns regarding hostilities in the Middle East, which pose risks to regional peace and security. Additionally, he will sign the Charter for the ECO Clean Energy Center. Dar is also scheduled to engage in bilateral discussions with other ministers and dignitaries attending the ministerial meeting.
