Lahore, May 17, 2013 (PPI-OT): Director International Hardware Merchants Association and former Chairman Pakistan hardware Merchants Association Sardar Usman Ghani has urged all the Political parties to shun blame-game by showing maturity in the larger interests of the country as political uncertainty had already done undue damage to the country.
In a statement issued here, Sardar Usman Ghani said that now is the time to think for the country by keeping all the political affiliation aside as if any more time was wasted in mudslinging, the economy would be the biggest causality therefore the politicians now should work in unison to give a good message to the outer world and correct things at domestic level.
He called for a new strategy in consultation with all the political parties and the private sector for a five year term for its implementation in letter and spirit to increase the production levels and raise the living standard of all citizens.
Sardar Usman Ghani said that the government would also have to evolve an energy policy to ensure electricity and gas to the industrial sector that is under tremendous pressure owing to the unavailability of these two very important industrial raw materials.
He said that there was also a dire need of overhauling in the Federal Board of Revenue besides restructuring of taxation procedures. Unless and until taxes are not rationalized, the broadening in the tax net would be day dreaming.
The former Chairman said that the country at this point in time is in dire need of a sustained GDP growth for next five to ten years to overcome economic issues at hand and this could only be done by a dedicated team of economic experts having a beating heart.
He said that the country is in need of millions of jobs annually to absorb the unemployed youth therefore the government would have to facilitate both the trade and the industry as the government alone can not create jobs in such a large numbers.
