DPM Calls for Timely Implementation of Development Projects

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has directed all authorities concerned to ensure coordinated and timely action for the effective implementation of development projects. Chairing a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council in Islamabad today, Ishaq Dar said timely completion of these projects will help maintain the momentum in the Government’s broader agenda of economic development and improved connectivity.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting considered a comprehensive agenda of development projects, including the construction of the Khwazakhela-Besham Expressway, electricity distribution efficiency improvement projects in LESCO, HESCO and PESCO, the Tarbela 5th Extension Hydropower Project, the Southern Punjab Poverty Alleviation Project, the Fulbright Scholarship Support Programme, and various water, connectivity and infrastructure projects.

The ECNEC Committee also considered revised PC-Is and reviewed progress and compliance with regard to ongoing development projects, with a view to ensuring their timely implementation and the efficient utilization of development resources.
