DPM Chairs Meeting on Tax Policy Reforms for Upcoming Budget

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of a committee to review and analyze tax policy proposals prepared by the Tax Policy Office for the upcoming budget and to formulate recommendations.

According to Radio Pakistan, the committee examined measures aimed at integrating the informal sector into the tax net and addressing existing gaps in the taxation system. It also assessed the potential impact of these proposals on revenue generation, economic growth, and investment.

The committee directed the Tax Policy Office to prioritize reforms that enhance revenue while simultaneously promoting growth and investment, without imposing additional burden on compliant taxpayers.
