DPM Engages in High-Level Talks to Bolster International Ties

Brussels: Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, in a series of meetings with leaders from Maldives, Italy, Bangladesh, Singapore, Somalia, and Brunei Darussalam, has discussed bilateral relations and matters pertaining to regional and global developments.

According to Radio Pakistan, during his meeting with the Foreign Minister of Maldives, Abdulla Khaleel, both parties agreed to deepen their bilateral relations, with a focus on trade, connectivity, and climate resilience. In discussions with Andrea Orizio, Head of Delegation for Italy, Ishaq Dar emphasized the strengthening of Pakistan-Italy ties and enhancing economic engagements within the broader Pakistan-EU frameworks.

Meetings with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan and Bangladesh’s Ambassador Masudul Alam highlighted the importance of positive dialogue to foster mutual understanding on regional and international issues. In a separate engagement at the 4th EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum, the Deputy Prime Minister exchanged views with Somalia’s Foreign Minister Abdusalam Abdi Ali, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to deepening cooperation and supporting regional stability.

In discussions with Second Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, Dato Erywan Yusof, both sides recognized the potential to further strengthen ties across various sectors, including trade, tourism, connectivity, IT, and education.
