DPM Lauds Role of British-Pakistani Parliamentarians in Pak-UK Relations

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Lord Qurban Hussain and community leaders of Kashmiri origin to discuss issues concerning the Pakistani community in the UK. The discussions focused on strengthening the historical and cultural ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister highlighted the important role that British Parliamentarians of Pakistani origin play in fostering bilateral relations. Their contributions have been instrumental in enhancing the connection between the two nations, reflecting a shared history and culture.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar addressed the progress on the Mirpur Airport project, stating that relevant authorities are working on completing the necessary formalities. To further this initiative, he proposed a public-private partnership financing model. He encouraged the Kashmiri diaspora in the UK to explore investment opportunities in the project. The delegation responded positively to this proposal, indicating a willingness to engage in potential investments.
