DPM Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Global Governance

New york: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with the President of the UN General Assembly, Phil©mon Yang, in New York today. During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening global governance, UN Security Council reform, and multilateralism.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar conveyed Pakistan’s serious concerns over India’s aggressive posturing, disinformation campaigns, and violations of the Indus Waters Treaty, which, he stressed, poses a threat to regional peace and stability. Both sides underscored the importance of comprehensive reforms to make the United Nations more effective, inclusive, and responsive.

Ishaq Dar commended the President of the UN General Assembly’s leadership, particularly in advancing the Pact for the Future and the UN80 Initiative, and reiterated Pakistan’s support for a reformed multilateral system capable of addressing contemporary global challenges.
