Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed full support for ASEAN’s continued efforts to promote regional peace, stability, prosperity, and sustainable development. In a message on the occasion of the fifty-ninth anniversary of ASEAN today, he stated that Pakistan remains committed to working closely with ASEAN in advancing a shared vision of a peaceful, prosperous, and integrated region.
According to Radio Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar extended felicitations on behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan, congratulating Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn on his efforts in advancing ASEAN’s vision of regional cooperation, resilience, and prosperity.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan’s relations with ASEAN are anchored in a shared commitment to the principles of mutual respect, non-interference, and constructive engagement. He further stated that Pakistan is committed to deepening cooperation with ASEAN in areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
