DPM Stresses Implementation of Policies to Maintain GSP Plus Status

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has directed authorities concerned to implement government policies in letter and spirit for the continuation of GSP Plus status. He was presiding over a meeting in Islamabad to review strategy for continuation of the status.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister sought implementation status from all Federal and Provincial departments regarding their assigned tasks to meet the criteria for GSP Plus status. On this occasion, the Secretary Commerce gave a detailed presentation, apprising the Committee about the steps taken by the Government to meet the criteria prescribed by the European Union for continuation of GSP Plus status. He also shared details relating to the recent visit of the EU Review Mission to Pakistan.
