Dr Banihali announces to return Indian literary award

Srinagar, October 20, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, prominent Kashmiri litterateur, Dr Marghoob Banihali has announced to return his Indian Sahitya Akademi Award as a mark of protest against the killing of the Kashmiri truck driver. Dr Marghoob Banihali, today, decided to return his award along with both trophy and cash to show solidarity with the victim family. The decision is also made to record protest against PDP-BJP alliance in Kashmir. Dr Banihali said that after watching Zahid Rasool Butt’s brutal murder and his funeral procession, today, he decided to return the award.
