Islamabad, June 16, 2015 (PPI-OT): A Meeting of the Standing Committee on Climate Change was held on 16th June, 2015 at 1:45 p.m in Committee Room No.2, Parliament House, Islamabad for the Election of its Chairman/Chairperson.

2. The meeting of the Committee commenced with recitation from the Holy Quran, The Special Secretary, National Assembly welcomed the Honourable Members for attending the meeting and also briefed them about the procedure of election of its Chairman/Chairperson.

3. Ms. Tahira Aurangzeb, MNA proposed the name of Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman Khan Drishak, MNA for the Chairmanship whereas, Ms. Shaista Pervaiz, MNA seconded his proposal. While only Ms. Mussarat Ahmad Zeb, MNA who opposed it. As there was no other candidate contesting for the election, resultantly Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman Khan Drishak, MNA was elected as Chairman.

4. After the election, the Special Secretary National Assembly congratulated Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman Khan Drishak, MNA the Chairman of the Committee and invited him to preside over the meeting.

5. Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman Khan Drishak, MNA, thanked all the Members of the Committee and hoped that they would extend full support for the smooth functioning of the Committee. All the Members of the Committee also congratulated the Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman Khan Drishak, MNA, on being elected as Chairman and assured their full co-operation. The Chairman also assured to the Members to work with honesty and diligently.

6. Members who attended the meeting are Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rehman Khan Drishak, MNA, Mr. Malik Ihtebar Khan, MNA, Chaudhry Khalid Javaid Warraich, MNA, Mr. Muhammad Moeen Wattoo, MNA, Ms. Tahira Aurangzeb, MNA, Ms. Seema Mohiuddin Jameeli, MNA, Ms. Shahnaz Saleem, MNA, Ms. Kiran Imran Dar, MNA, Ms. Nighat Parveen Mir, MNA, Ms. Shaista Pervaiz, MNA, Ms. Mussarat Ahmad Zeb, MNA and Mr. Abdul Qahar Khan Wadan, MNA,

7. The meeting was thereafter adjourned.
