Dr Khalid Hossain Visits COMSTECH Secretariat in Islamabad

Islamabad: Advisor of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Bangladesh, Dr A F M Khalid Hossain paid an official visit to the COMSTECH Secretariat in Islamabad. He expressed appreciation for the role of COMSTECH as the Ministerial Standing Committee of the OIC, in advancing science, technology, artificial intelligence, environment, climate change, and poverty reduction across the Muslim world.

According to Radio Pakistan, Dr Khalid Hossain acknowledged the allocation of 100 scholarships for Bangladeshi students at the University of Lahore. This initiative enables students to pursue higher education in Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of extending these opportunities to students from Madrassa backgrounds, allowing them to contribute to fields like medicine, engineering, and technology.

Dr Hossain highlighted the necessity of unity under the banner of Islam, guided by the Quran and Hadith, for the greater interest of the Muslim Ummah. He stressed that unity is essential for progress.

On the occasion, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Pakistan, Md Iqbal Hussain Khan, reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to working closely with COMSTECH. This collaboration aims to achieve mutual benefits and strengthen cooperation among OIC member states.
