ECC Approves Wheat Allocation and Supplementary Grants

Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet convened under the leadership of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb to address critical economic matters.

According to Radio Pakistan, the ECC approved a proposal from the Ministry of National Food Security to supply an additional 50,000 metric tons of wheat from the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO) to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This allocation, priced at 4,150 rupees per forty kilograms, aims to assist the province in fulfilling its wheat needs.

The Committee also gave the green light to a request from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. This approval concerns a Technical Supplementary Grant of 2,674.13 million rupees for the current financial year. The allocated funds will support federal public information and awareness campaigns, as well as related publicity activities undertaken by the Ministry.

Furthermore, technical supplementary grants were sanctioned for the Strategic Plans Division/SUPARCO, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, and the Parliamentary Affairs Division, reflecting a comprehensive approach to addressing the financial needs of various governmental departments.
