Srinagar: In the Baramulla district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, at least 61 schools have been closed due to their occupation by Indian forces’ personnel, significantly disrupting the educational process in the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have mandated the closure of various schools and educational institutions, converting them into temporary camps for Indian forces’ personnel. This includes members from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP), and Indian Reserve Police (IRP). These closures are part of the preparations for the 3rd phase of the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for October 01, with the schools serving as accommodation sites for the personnel from September 26 to October 02.
The educational institutions affected include GDC Tangmarg, Pattan, Uri, Boniyar, Kreeri, SSM College Parihaspora, ITI Kralhar, Polytechnic College Kanispora, Neitherfield School, MET Sopore, and SRM Welkin, among others. This move has raised significant concerns regarding the impact on students’ education and the continuity of learning during this critical period of the academic year.
