Education is our leading priority: Qaim Ali Shah

Karachi, January 28, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that we common the education in youth of the province so as to show that the education is our leading priority. This he said while addressing the MOU signing ceremony of the 3 years Women Economic Empowerment Project between NCHD and BBSYDP held at Chief Ministers House here. Chairperson NCHD Dr Nafisa Shah, Provincial Minister Halim Adil Shaikh, Cordinator BBSYDP Masood Nabi Dogar, Senator Aajiz Dhmrah, Provincial Coordinator BBSYDP Karim Bakhsh Siddiqui, Director Operation Sindh NCHD Ms Humera Hashmi and others were also addressing the ceremony.

Addressing the Ceremony, the Chief Minister Sindh has said that when we came into power, allocation for the Education was Rs 2 billion but present PPP Government has raised the same upto Rs 12 billion. He said that at that time 7000 schools were on only papers and closed, Teachers getting their salaries at homes but they functionalized the 4000 schools and provided them class rooms, and bath room facilities. He further said that Present Government has also raised the salaries of the teachers which at that time from 14 to 40 thousand.

The Chief Minister Sindh said that at the time of the Devolution and the 18 Amendment and Federal Government decided to close up the NCHD but we resisted and said that no employee would be un employed. He said that recently Assembly tabled a bill of Compulsory Education which is envisaged of the dream of Shaheed Bhutt0 and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto that education was the compulsory for everyone.

He appreciated the efforts of NCHD and BBSYDP for promoting the education in the province especially among the youths. He said that women empowerment project was leading visible change, which was great success of NCHD and BBSYDP. He said that Preseident Asif Ali Zardari successfully led the vision of the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and we proudly said that we empower the women more than the past.

Chairperson NCHD and MNA Dr Nafisa Shah also addressing the ceremony, said that not only the the youth are getting the education and awareness but they got skill and training too and now they have been provided self employment.

She said that it was the diversity of the program that the women of the rural and far flung areas are getting their skills and training at their doorstep otherwise they were travelled the miles from their homes to get such facilities.

She stressed that promotion of the computer literacy was more important than the distribution of the lap tops, those who must watch that they raise the voice of revolution, there was a real revolution which introduced among the lives of poor women by the present PPP Government.

Dr Nafisa Shah said that when the women are not walking with men, shoulder to shoulder in political, social and economic life, till the destiny of the country would not be changed by any one. Democratic Government of the PPP. Not only provided the land and house hold to the women but provided live stock and other inputs at large scale to them. NCHD and BBSYDP provided them skill ful training under economic empowerment program so that they would earn their livelihood. She further said that in next phase , they would be trained 40,000 women which costs the amount of 4 billion, which is more appropriate than the reconstruction of any road scheme.

Provincial Coordinator BBSYDP Karim Bakhsh Siddiqui highlighted the features of the BBSYDP Phase V, training program, said that in this phase the more than 30, 000 youth would be trained in different 356 employable trades with self employment opportunities. Assesment of the training and partners are under process. Road show have also been arranged throughout the province.

Under all Phases 1, 48,000 un-employed youth of the province have been trained in skillful trades/sectors, out of which more than 30 % graduates have been got self employment in different sectors at local and at international level. He expressed the gratitude of the Chief Minister Sindh and Chairperson NCHD for their continuous support to the BBSYDP to provide the skill ful training and self employment opportunities to the youth of the province to achieve maximum numbers of the target to reduce the poverty alleviation in the Sindh province through this mega initiative of BBSYDP.

On the occasion, MOU between BBSYDP and NCHD was also signed by the Director General NCHD Khusro Pervez Khan and Provincial Coordinator BBSYDP Karim Bakhsh Siddiqui under which the women economic empowerment project, women of the province would be trained skill ful trainings of stiching, tailoring, embroidery and technical and vocational.

The NCHD trained girls belonging to Thatta and Larkana were also shared their valuable training course observations which highly aggravated the ceremony participants that how NCHD and BBSYDP positively changed and brightened their lifestyle.

Shields among BBSYDP and NCHD district coordinators and officials was also distributed by the Chief Minister Sindh and chairperson NCHD.
