ISLAMABAD: Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain has announced that the Electric Policy will be unveiled by the end of this month to promote the use of electric vehicles in the country.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a media interaction in Islamabad, Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision to introduce electric vehicles in Pakistan. He noted that some manufacturers are already producing two and three-wheelers domestically, and the three-wheelers made in Pakistan are also being exported.
The minister highlighted that the government, following directives from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has allocated four billion rupees to support the promotion of electric vehicles. He mentioned that the government plans to offer subsidies on two-wheelers to encourage their adoption.
Furthermore, Rana Tanveer Hussain announced that one hundred e-bikes will be distributed free of cost to students who are toppers in their respective institutions. He added that 40 charging stations will be established on the motorways, with approximately 300 additional facilities to be set up along highways and other locations.
