Energy Minister, US Diplomat Discuss Reforms in Energy Sector

Islamabad: Acting US Ambassador in Pakistan, Natalie A Baker, called on Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari in Islamabad today [Tuesday]. She invited the Minister to participate in the Energy Security Dialogue being organized in Washington.

According to Radio Pakistan, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari informed the US Diplomat about the recent reforms undertaken in the Power Sector by the government. He mentioned that these reforms have resulted in improvements in the Power Sector compared to last year.

The Energy Minister acknowledged the close partnership of various US Agencies with the Power Sector, stating that it has significantly contributed to building the strategic partnership. He emphasized that Pakistan values its relationship with the United States in this regard.
