Envoy Urges Consul Generals, Trade Officers to Bolster Pak-US Trade

Washington D.C: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has called on Consul Generals and Trade Officers to tap into the trade potential between Pakistan and various U.S. states. The plea came during a conference in Washington D.C. aimed at enhancing Pak-US economic ties and improving community services for Pakistani expatriates.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the conference gathered Pakistan’s Consul Generals from Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and New York, along with trade and commercial officers. Discussions focused on community engagement, consular services, and economic relations with the United States.

Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the importance of the Pakistani community in the US as a vital link in Pak-US relations and urged consulate staff to extend their reach to assist nationals across the U.S. He also discussed new government initiatives designed to simplify the visa process for business and tourism purposes, advocating for increased public awareness of these changes.

Trade officers briefed on efforts to promote Pakistani products in the U.S. market, exploring state-specific trade needs to foster business connections between the two nations. The conference also touched on enhancing Pak-US cooperation in the education sector and strengthening people-to-people ties by fostering business linkages.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to actively engage the Pakistani community in the U.S., improve service delivery, and create job opportunities in priority business sectors.
