Exchange Rates in Pakistan Show Stability as Year-End Approaches

Karachi: The Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP) has released the open market closing exchange rates for December 18, 2025, providing a snapshot of currency valuations as the year draws to a close. According to the data, the US dollar was being bought at 280.70 PKR and sold at 281.30 PKR.

The euro showed a buying rate of 328.71 PKR and a selling rate of 331.74 PKR. The British pound was listed at 374.43 PKR for buying and 377.92 PKR for selling.

The Japanese yen, which is often traded at lower volumes, was recorded at 1.78 PKR buying and 1.84 PKR selling.

Regional currencies such as the UAE dirham and the Saudi riyal were also included in the report. The dirham had a buying rate of 76.57 PKR and a selling rate of 77.34 PKR, while the riyal was pegged at 74.79 PKR for buying and 75.39 PKR for selling.

These rates are sourced from the State Bank of Pakistan and reflect the market dynamics as trading activities round off for the year.
