Extremely High Flood in Chenab River Heading Towards Multan and Muzaffargarh Districts

Multan: An extremely high flood in the Chenab River is advancing towards the Multan and Muzaffargarh districts, originating from the Chiniot and Jhang areas. The water level continues to rise, threatening the surrounding regions.

According to Radio Pakistan, approximately 104 villages in the Muzaffargarh district are expected to be impacted by this flood. In response, 18 relief camps have been established to assist affected residents. In the Multan division, 84 relief camps have been set up, and more than one hundred thousand people have been relocated from low-lying areas to safer locations.

To address the situation, a technical committee has been formed in Multan. This committee is tasked with making decisions about breaches to protect critical infrastructure, including the Head Muhammad Wala and Shershah bridges, as well as other important installations.
