Factory to Manufacture Google Chromebooks to Be Established in Punjab

Lahore: A factory for the manufacturing of Google Chromebooks will be established in Punjab to promote information technology and digital learning in the province. A high-level delegation of Google for Education and Tech Valley called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in Lahore today and discussed avenues of cooperation in the field of IT and digital education.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Chromebooks to be produced in Punjab will feature advanced tools including the AI Toolkit and ‘AI Gemini’ for students, ‘Read Along’ for English learning, and ‘Canva’ for creative projects. The delegation, led by Global Director of Google for Education Kevin Callis and Chief Executive Officer of Tech Valley Umar Farooq, appreciated the Chief Minister’s vision for modern education and her efforts for empowering girls through technology.

Maryam Nawaz expressed gratitude to Google for its collaboration and reaffirmed her government’s commitment to transforming Punjab into a hub of artificial intelligence and digital innovation.
