Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol Elected Unopposed as LCCI President

LAHORE: Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol has been elected unopposed as the President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. His nomination received backing from key figures such as Mian Anjum Nisar, Chairman of the PIAF-Pioneer Progressive Alliance, and Muhammad Ali Mian, a former LCCI President.

Saigol brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as Vice President of the LCCI and as Acting Chairman of the Karachi Port Trust. His expertise in trade and economic affairs is expected to guide the chamber towards enhanced progress.

In addition to Saigol’s election, Tanveer Ahmed has been elected unopposed as Senior Vice President, and Khurram Lodhi as Vice President. The unopposed nature of the elections was confirmed after no other candidates submitted nomination papers.

The nominations were processed by Secretary General Shahid Khalid and reviewed by Election Commission members Nasrullah Mughal, Yousaf Shah, and Chaudhry Mohsin Bashir. The positions became vacant due to the personal commitments of previous office-bearers, who will serve until the end of the month.

Saigol, addressing the chamber members, emphasized his commitment to maintaining close communication with them and prioritizing their concerns. He reaffirmed the LCCI’s role in supporting trade, facilitating businesses, and strengthening the country’s economic foundation.

The announcement ceremony was attended by former LCCI Presidents and members of the Executive Committee, underscoring the significance of the event.
