Farooq Abdullah Accuses India of Usurping Kashmiris’ Rights

Srinagar: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has accused India of forcibly usurping the rights of the people in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), declaring a steadfast commitment to restoring their constitutional and democratic freedoms.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during interactions with various delegations at his residence in Srinagar, Abdullah highlighted the necessity for unity among the Kashmiri population to effectively reclaim their rights. He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for fostering communal tensions and undermining the local economy in the region.

Abdullah’s discourse further addressed the need to dismantle sectarian divides, particularly between the Jammu region and the Kashmir Valley, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to counteract hatred and prevent communal conflicts. He pointed out that restoring the statehood of occupied Jammu and Kashmir remains a critical objective, essential not only for the functioning of a prospective government but also for alleviating the ongoing oppression, coercion, and harassment experienced by the populace.
