Fast Cables Limited Receives Upgraded Credit Ratings Amid Strategic Growth and Market Challenges

Karachi: In a recent development, VIS Credit Rating Company Limited has upgraded the entity ratings of Fast Cables Limited to ‘A/A2’ from A-/A2. This upgrade reflects the company’s strong financial performance and strategic market positioning. The outlook on these ratings remains stable.

According to VIS Credit Rating Company Limited, Fast Cables Limited, a public limited company established in Pakistan in 2008, has shown considerable improvements in its corporate and financial profile. The company, which manufactures electric wires, cables, conductors, and LED lighting products, went public by listing on the Pakistan Stock Exchange in June 2024, raising PKR 3.1 billion. This move has bolstered its financial standing and is part of a broader strategy to diversify its product portfolio and expand its market reach.

The upgraded ratings underscore the moderate risk profile of the wires and cables industry, which is affected by economic cyclicality and construction activity. Despite subdued demand due to reduced construction and public development spending, the industry is expected to recover. This anticipated recovery is linked to a resurgence in construction projects, increased solar energy adoption, and transmission network upgrades following the privatization of Distribution Companies.

Fast Cables Limited has achieved a compound annual growth rate of 42% in sales over the past four years, alongside consistent margin increases. The company’s robust presence in the institutional sales segment, particularly during periods of low construction activity, provides stability. This stability is further supported by demand in non-cyclical segments like transmission network upgrades. The company’s recent foray into the LED lighting market has opened new growth opportunities, and ongoing expansion projects aim to enhance operational efficiency.

Maintaining financial margins, liquidity, and a strong capitalization profile remain crucial for sustaining the company’s credit ratings in the future.
