Federal Interior Minister Reviews Progress on F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange Project

Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange project to assess the ongoing construction work. The underpass of the interchange is set to open for traffic by December 31, with the entire project slated for inauguration in the second week of February.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Naqvi commended the contractor, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and workers for maintaining operations round the clock, even amid protests. He urged them to sustain their efforts to meet the project timeline. Additionally, Naqvi announced plans to make F-10 Chowk signal-free to enhance traffic flow on Jinnah Avenue and reviewed the layout plan, calling for necessary adjustments. The construction for F-10 Chowk is expected to commence soon, aiming for simultaneous completion with the F-8 Exchange Interchange.

A detailed briefing was provided to the Interior Minister, highlighting the timelines for the project’s various phases. The piling work is expected to conclude by December 3, followed by the pile cap work by December 12, 2024. The aim is to complete the project in a record time, offering improved traffic conditions in Islamabad.
