Federal Minister Calls for Enhanced Mining Cooperation Between Pakistan and China

Xi An: Federal Minister for Petroleum, Dr. Musadik Malik, emphasized the need to strengthen Pak-China cooperation in the mining sector during his visit to the Shaanxi Non-Ferrous Metals Holding Group Company in China.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Malik highlighted Pakistan’s rich mineral resources and the potential benefits of partnering with Shaanxi Non-Ferrous Metals Holding Group Company. He asserted that such collaboration would mark the beginning of an innovative era in the mining industry. Dr. Malik also stressed the importance of conducting geological surveys to uncover new mineral deposits and mentioned plans to enhance the capabilities of the Geological Survey of Pakistan through cooperation with the company.

The Chairman of Shaanxi Non-Ferrous Metals Holding Group Company reciprocated the sentiment, expressing optimism about the mutual benefits of the Pakistan-China partnership in the mining sector. He described Pakistan as a valued partner, friend, and neighbor to China.

The meeting also saw the appointment of focal persons from both sides to focus on joint ventures specifically targeting the mining of gold, copper, and other valuable metals.
